The New Saints and Aberystwyth Town Ladies have been announced as the winners of the Nationwide Building Society Fairplay Award for 2020/2021.
In a season severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, most of the domestic football calendar was wiped out, however, the JD Cymru Premier and the Orchard Welsh Premier Women’s League were able to complete their seasons.
The tables are determined based on players and team officials receiving red and yellow cards. A club receives 4 points for every yellow card and 10 or 12 points depending on the type of red card offence.
Clubs that promote fair play can also receive a reduction in their disciplinary points when they evidence such instances.
The club with the least number of points is deemed the Nationwide Building Society Fairplay Award Winner for their relevant league.
The FAW and Nationwide Building Society congratulate The New Saints and Aberystwyth Town Ladies for winning the Fairplay Award in their respective leagues. Both winners will receive a £1000 cash prize and a trophy.
