A special live show to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the JD Cymru Premier will take place at the home of the defending champions The New Saints on Thursday evening.

A video highlighting the opening season of the then League of Wales in 1992/93 through to the most recent top-flight season will be aired, with guests from across the JD Cymru Premier also featuring on the show at Park Hall.

Chris Venables, who sits as the league's current longest-serving player, will be one of the live guests. The former Caersws, Welshpool, Llanelli Town and Aberystwyth Town striker netted his 200th top-flight goal last year and has won the JD Cymru Premier Golden Boot five times. Venables' time in the league has seen him go on to play in Europe with Llanelli, Aberystwyth and Bala, while he has also represented Cymru C.

The New Saints manager Craig Harrison, who recently returned to Park Hall after five years away from the club, will also be in attendance. Harrison won six successive JD Cymru Premier titles during his first managerial spell with the Saints from 2011 to 2017 and is the most successful manager in the history of the top flight in Wales. During their 2016/17 triumph under Harrison's leadership, the Saints broke a 44-year-old world record for the longest winning streak in top-flight football, which was previously held by Ajax.

Michael Davies, who scored two goals on the opening day of the League of Wales to earn Aberystwyth Town a 3-2 win over Caersws, will also join Venables and Harrison on the show. Davies scored 17 league goals in the opening campaign of the league to help the Seasiders secure a third-place finish, which still remains their highest finish in the top flight. Since hanging up his boots, Davies has travelled up and down the country providing commentary of the JD Cymru Premier for S4C's flagship football series Sgorio.

The show, which starts at 7:30pm on Thursday 11th August, will be broadcast across the JD Cymru Leagues and Football Association of Wales platforms. The Nathaniel MG Cup third-round draw will also take place at Park Hall following the conclusion of the show.
