An emphatic 7-0 win over Cardiff Met saw The New Saints maintain their four-point lead at the top of the JD Cymru Premier.

Ryan Brobbel struck inside the opening seven minutes to put the Saints ahead before goals from Declan McManus and Adrian Cieslewicz put them three goals to the good later in the half.

Cieslewicz and McManus both got their second on the hour mark and the former added his third with 19 minutes left on the clock. Substitute Jordan Williams entered the fray in the 73rd minute and got on the scoresheet with the Saints' seventh late on.

While Caernarfon Town edged past Haverfordwest County with a 2-1 win to move to second in the table. Fidel O'Rourke got the Cofis off to a flyer in the fifth minute but the goal was cancelled out by Jack Wilson on the hour mark.

Joe Faux got the winner for Huw Griffiths' side with 20 minutes left as his side moved to within four points of top spot.

Two second-half goals at Essity Stadium saw Flint Town United and Bala Town play out a 1-1 draw. Chris Venables struck the opener from the penalty spot in the 67th minute but a last-minute goal from Larnell Cole saw the hosts come away with a point.

There was also late drama at the USW Sport Park as Danny Williams struck an 84th-minute penalty to earn Pontypridd United a 1-0 win over Airbus UK Broughton.

Elsewhere, Aaron Williams' brace was not enough as Newtown fell to a 3-2 defeat against Penybont at Latham Park.

Kai Whitmore broke the deadlock on the hour mark and Nathan Wood's penalty doubled Penybont's lead on the stroke of half time. Williams responded in the 58th minute before Sam Snaith restored the away side's two-goal lead six minutes later.

Williams replied again shortly after the restart but it couldn't deny Rhys Griffiths' side their fourth win of the campaign.

While Jack Thorn's late strike helped Aberystwyth Town bring their four-game losing run to an end with a 2-1 win over Connah's Quay Nomads.

Harry Arnison opened the scoring for the Seasiders in the 54th minute and, after John Disney missed from the penalty spot, Paulo Mendes poked home the rebound to get the Nomads level.

It appeared to be heading for a draw but Thorn struck with eight minutes left to seal the victory for the home side.
