The winners of February's Player and Manager of the Month awards across the JD Cymru Leagues have been confirmed.
JD Cymru Premier
Manager of the Month
Andrew Stokes – Pontypridd United
The phase two agenda for Pontypridd United is to survive relegation, so two wins and a draw in February were much needed as they moved out of the relegation zone. Andrew Stokes’ team conquered Airbus and Haverfordwest County either side of a thrilling 3-3 draw with Aberystwyth Town when they scored two late goals to earn a point.
Player of the Month
Mark Cadwallader – Aberystwyth Town
Mark Cadwallader could not have hoped for a better start to life at Aberystwyth Town after joining from Flint Town United in January. He came off the bench to score twice in the 3-3 draw against Pontypridd United and then earned a start against Airbus where he added two more goals to his tally in a 7-1 rout.
JD Cymru North
Manager of the Month
Johnny Haseldin – Holywell Town
Holywell Town are refusing to give up hope of catching Colwyn Bay and it is testament to Johnny Haseldin that his team are on a 21-match winning streak themselves despite not getting any closer to top spot. The Wellmen kept clean sheets in all five of their February wins and in fact have not conceded a single goal in the league since November.
Player of the Month
Cai Owen – Colwyn Bay
Colwyn Bay won all five of their matches in February and Cai Owen contributed with a goal involvement on every occasion. The midfielder scored against Cefn Druids and Mold Alexandra, while setting goals up against Llanidloes Town (twice), Gresford Athletic and even as a substitute against Conwy Borough.
JD Cymru South
Manager of the Month
Lee Kendall – Barry Town United
Lee Kendall has won the last two manager of the month awards in the JD Cymru South and he staked a strong case for a hat-trick as Barry Town United won all five of their matches in February. The Linnets scored 13 goals in the process and conceded just three, keeping three clean sheets.
Player of the Month
Luke Bowen – Briton Ferry
Now on 23 league goals for the season, Luke Bowen continues to spearhead Briton Ferry’s promotion push with consistently impressive performances in attack. He contributed three goals and two assists in three matches in February, including a first half brace in the 3-0 win over Pontardawe Town.
