Caernarfon Town will meet Flint Town United in the 2021/22 JD Cymru Premier Play-Off Final.

Flint booked their place in the final in dramatic fashion after a 3-1 shoot-out win over Penybont at the Essity Stadium on Saturday.

The Silkmen went ahead early on when Alex Jones, who was also on the scoresheet in the final day draw against Newtown, netted after six minutes.

Nathan Wood levelled for Rhys Griffiths' side in the second half as he fired home from the penalty spot after Ben Nash fouled Sam Snaith in the area.

Wood had another opportunity from the spot in the second half of extra time as Sam Duffy tripped Kai Whitmore, but the forward crashed his effort from 12 yards against the crossbar as the tie was settled on penalties.

Goalkeeper Jon Rushton was the hero for Flint as he kept out efforts from Kane Owen and Ashley Evans to book his side a place in the final.

Elsewhere, Christian Edwards' 13-year reign at Cardiff Met came to an end with a 1-0 defeat against Caernarfon Town at The Oval.

Mike Hayes - the Cofis' top scorer this season with 11 goals this term - scored the only goal of the game when he got in between two Cardiff Met defenders and flicked home Darren Thomas' cross.

And the home defence stood firm to keep the Archers at bay and set up a final clash with Flint at The Oval on Saturday.

The final will be shown live on Sgorio's digital platforms.
